Valentine’s Day Ice Cream!

I have a new toy!

For Christmas Mark got me a pizza stone. It was beautiful and very luxurious, it had all the markings of a truly thoughtful and personal gift. He knew I liked the brand (All Clad), he knew I liked making pizza, and he knew I liked getting fun kitchen tools as presents.

Unfortunately, I didn’t really want a pizza stone. LOL.

That’s just one of those kitchen tools I don’t really care about. I make pizza at home on a normal cookie sheet and it works for me. So I returned it and exchanged it for…AN ICE CREAM MAKER!

When I broke the news to Mark that I would be returning his “slam dunk” gift, I made sure to quickly follow it up with the fact that we could soon make ice cream at home. Whatever ice cream he wanted! I think it lessened the blow.

Anyway, this ice cream maker rocks. I’m so excited about it. For it’s inaugural batch, I went for a Valentine’s Day theme. I made some chocolate ice cream and added my favorite add-in, marshmallow fluff. Ugh, so good. And then for a festive spin, I added chopped up pink and red m&ms. It kind of ended up like a variation of one of my favorite flavors, Rocky Road. Just sans nuts. Which is fine, cause I don’t really like the nuts.

I’m happy to report that it. is. so. good. WHY EVEN ICE CREAM FROM THE STORE?! GUYS!

Should I name it Rocky Relationship Ice Cream? Get it? Like Rocky Road but with a valentine’s/relationship spin? That’s not that love-y though. Rocky Road-mance? Rocky Romance Ice Cream? Relationship Road? Romance Road? There’s something there, I just gotta find it. For now, we’ll just call it…

1 c cocoa powder

3/4 c brown sugar

1 tbsp vanilla extract

3 1/4 c heavy cream

1 1/2 c whole milk

marshmallow fluff/creme

valentine’s day m&ms, chopped

Add the cocoa, sugar, vanilla, cream, and milk to a bowl and mix together until well combined.

Transfer mixture to ice cream machine and follow manufacturer instructions.

Add m&ms and fluff while still churning.

Once done churning, transfer to a container and freeze for 2 more hours.

Serve and enjoy!
